I unhappily moved out in April and decided not to spend time complaining about the terrible management, poor communication, and unnecessary renovation for my first 1-star review. However, I have been waiting for a refund since May. I was overcharged for two months' utilities after moving out because 808 Berry did not notify AUM and respond to their email. And I agree with other 1-star reviews, especially because of safety issues. The garage door and the emergency door to the building remained open even at midnight.
Poor management - no updated lease was received when our renewal came. Only a lease with updated rent charges, the rest of the pages were the same as the first lease we received. Errors in parking information and blanks left for pet / parking fees. Management provided underground parking - but it really turns into a protected areas for thieves to search through your cars and steal what they can. My car was broken into twice, my motorcycle was stolen, and my neighbors car was broken into 3 times. Management claimed no camera footage caught anything. There are cameras facing the only garage exit and management was notified within 24 hours of the theft. Do not recommend.
No camera's on the 3rd and 4th floor, and no cameras on the stairs or elevators. New management is terrible, they don't call you back and are very unprofessional. I'm always getting citizen notifications about something going wrong at 808 Berry, but they never tell the residents... WHY? Dear New Management: MAKE THIS COMPLEX SAFE AGAIN!!!! WHY ARE THERE DRUNK PEOPLE YELLING AND MAKING NOISES AT 2-4 AM??? WHERE ARE THE CAMERAS TO PROTECT RESIDENTS? WHY AREN'T THERE MORE CAMERAS IN THE GARAGE.
THEY ARE SCAMMERS WHO DIDNT GIVE ME MY SECURITY DEPOSIT!!! So basically i moved out bc they increased the rent after making some un-necessary renovations to the building.. we decided to not renew the contract and left the apartment in a very great condition.. then we received an email saying that they will deduct 90 usd for bed and living blinds which were in a good condition when i asked what’s is this dedication for Jackie said no i am talking about the whole structure its not a single piece which cost a dollar.. the. We sent her an email with pictures from the day we received the keys that there were missing piece but it didn’t affect the general condition of the blinds since we use curtains.. she told me that she will review it and get back to us.. we were waiting for a response and then when i asked them they said that they mailed the check. And they changed the team. Today i went back and asked for the deposit and they give me phone number of the corporate where no one is picking up the phone.. WE NEED A RESPONSE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BC THIS IS A SCAM!!!!
My experience here have been nothing but he'll..I hate it here. Just as soon as Im able I will be looking for something better it's raining in my apartment but they just did renovations no y'all haven't people will say anything for you to move in I'ma looking to leave this place ASAP so don't rent at 808 Berry I would not recommend you will be sorry
