The management is all very kind and helpful. I lived here for a little over a year and any maintenance issues I had were quickly taken care of. The location was one of the best parts, I loved that it was close to everything and in downtown but still had parking for guests. Additionally, the liquor store, smoothie shop, and mini store were amazing on cold winter days and everyone that runs them are so nice I came to think of them all as good friends! I really can't complain about the management, other residents, and amenities, but I can't not mention the property itself. This sounds really bizarre, but the building itself had a really eerie feeling. One of the residents had a breakdown and came knocking on my door that this building isn't real life and everyone that lived in it was in a simulation, my friend's husband quit his window washing career after working at this property due to the dark energy and deaths, and I had some strange experiences there myself. My now husband said the same thing before I ever brought it up and described it as ominous. Overall a good place to live but if you're sensitive to energies and weird spiritual stuff just check it out yourself! Amenities and price may make it worth it to some lol.
TLDR: Awesome views of the city and river. Walking distance with direct skyway access to all the recreation activities the city has to offer, (Guthrie theater, Target Field, U.S. Bank Stadium etc...) and a management team that is second to none. I have had the opportunity to live in a downtown setting in multiple large metros in the country, and The Churchill has been my best experience by far. I have been living at The Churchill for nearly a year now and I not only intend to stay, but am so happy with the location, price and how the building is managed I signed an 18 month lease. In my experience the community here has been welcoming, respectful and pet friendly. The rooftop pool and gym have an awesome view of the river and city, and they are enclosed so can be enjoyed 365 days a year. Last, but certainly not least, the building is managed excellently. Rent, utilities and parking options are all straightforward and very reasonable. All in all, Troy and his staff (shoutout to Pam!) have truly gone above and beyond every single time I have needed anything big or small.
I lived at the Churchill for 6 months and while I enjoyed the views and amenities I had a number of issues with how the complex was managed. First, the communication with the management team was abysmal. when I had questions regarding items like rent or amenities I would email to the team. Not once, did I receive a response to my questions. They were responsive when we were communicating about moving in but after that it was non existent. Second, since they require rental insurance I followed their instructions and uploaded it to the portal, they seemed to ignore it and charge me for their rental insurance each month which was included in the rent. I would not recommend unless you really like living in downtown for the same price as a monthly mortgage payment.
Location, convenience, views, package and concierge service and overall the management is great. But the most basic peace and quiet is missing. My job requires me to work from home and since last year summer I have had to bear this constant loud noise of drilling and hammering all day because of maintenance on the exterior façade. I have to run to the party room or conference room to take calls and attend meetings, it’s okay once in a while but not every day.The noise is unbearable and makes you irritable and frustrated. We pay additional cost because our unit has the River view with 2 balconies. However because of this maintenance one balcony is closed and the other one is useless due to dust and noise. There are other issues too, every other day the elevators don’t work. Even inside the apartment either water is dripping or ceiling is peeling off. There is always something. Not the place to live if you need to stay at home the whole time like me or you are old or sick and need to rest.
Just read the other reviews. The elevators don’t work regularly, and when they do they are quite frankly sketchy. (They reply saying that the elevators were a “one time” thing, well thats not true. Its constant). So, so many things that were unacceptable about this apartment. There are way too many things to list, there would be too many paragraphs. I’ve never been elated to move out of an apartment, but I am about this one. Just believe the other reviews.
