Minneapolis police said one man died and several others were wounded in four separate shootings within five hours across the city Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Two suspects have been arrested, police said.
A man was taken to the hospital at 9:30 p.m. Saturday after a shooting in the 700 block of W. Broadway Avenue, where multiple ShotSpotter activations were reported. His Injuries apparently were not life-threatening.
A man died Sunday afternoon after being shot around 10 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Elliot Avenue S. Police said officers responded to several reports of gunfire and found the victim in a backyard, where the man fled after being shot.
Gunfire rang out around 2 a.m. Sunday during a fight at the Gold Room, 528 Hennepin Av. Officers from four precincts responded along with the Bicycle Rapid Response Team to deal with an “unruly crowd,” police said. A man was wounded and treated at the scene before going to the hospital. Police arrested a male suspect and recovered a gun.
Police spokesman Garrett Parten said in an email that officers who called in the fight were off-duty and working security at the Gold Room.
Twenty minutes later, officers heard gunshots at 3rd Street N. and 1st Avenue N. A woman who had wounds that were not life threatening was taken to the hospital. Officers arrested a female suspect and recovered a gun. Two men with gunshot wounds went to the hospital in private vehicles.
